Graduates of the MFA/Professional Actor Training Program have worked across the United States from New York to Los Angeles; many have been invited to return to Montgomery as ASF Equity company members.

They have performed on Broadway and have made notable contributions to the larger New York theatre community as actors, directors, and playwrights.

Our graduates work at major regional theatres across the country such as The Goodman Theatre, The Old Globe Theatres, Actors Theatre of Louisville, Mark Taper Forum, American Conservatory Theatre, and The Shakespeare Theatre—Washington, D.C., and many, many more. Many graduates have successful careers as educators and others as artistic directors; some have founded their own theatre companies. Our alumni have received recognition for performances in classical productions ranging from As You Like It to Julius Caesar and contemporary pieces including Rent, Wicked!, and Gross Indecency. Alumnus, Norbert Leo Butz (’93) has recently received the Tony Award for his role in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. They have also been acknowledged for their work in film and television, including a 2001 Emmy awarded to Michael Emerson (’95) for his guest-supporting role in ABC’s The Practice.

ASF is proud of all its alumni; we appreciate the contributions they are making to theatre in America.
