Classes, rehearsals and performances for the Professional Actor Training Program are scheduled six days a week. Because of this intense schedule, outside work is not permitted. All students receive a full scholarship for university tuition. In addition, students receive a graduate assistantship over $13,500 annually for fulfilling casting and understudy assignments at ASF. There are no teaching requirements for MFA candidates. A one-time fee of $125.00 for program expenses is due upon final admission, and $50 per semester paid to the University of Alabama College of Arts and Sciences. Additional costs to the student may include texts, class/rehearsal clothes and other classroom incidentals. Information about additional financial assistance may be obtained through the Office of Student Financial Aid at the University of Alabama. Housing is not provided by ASF; however, several reasonably priced apartment complexes are within walking distance.
