The Master of Fine Arts in Stage Management is offered by the University of Alabama in conjunction with the Alabama Shakespeare Festival. The First nine months of the program are in residence on the campus of the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa where the student will concentrate on academic work. The last fifteen months of the program are spent in residence with the Alabama Shakespeare Festival in Montgomery, where an intensive program of academic and practically-oriented study will occur. Enrollment in the program is limited to a maximum of two students admitted each fall.
Admission to the program and awards of assistantships are based upon review of application, letters of recommendation, and an interview, usually at the U/RTA unified auditions or on-campus in Tuscaloosa. On-campus interviews should be completed by the end of February. Interviews will be scheduled at SETC only on an emergency basis.
Administration:
The faculty is comprised of the program directors, faculty of the University's Department of Theatre and Dance, professional staff of the Alabama Shakespeare Festival and guest faculty.
